Excel out of Memory Error

Method 1: 
Delete the items from temporary folder and see if it helps.
  1. Hold Windows key + R.
  2. Copy and paste  or type the following command in the Open box, and then press Enter

          %temp%

Windows Explorer opens in the Temporary folder > Press Ctrl+A to select all the contents and Delete.

Note: If there are any files in use, skip them.

 

Method 2:

Try Working in Excel safe and check if it helps. To know how to start Excel in Safe mode, follow the steps below.

Hold the windows key + Letter ‘R’ from the keyboard to launch the Run command > Copy and paste the following command line in the open box and click Ok.

 

Excel /safe

 

If Excel safe works as expected, disable the add-ins as suggested below: 

  1. Click on File menu.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Click Add-ins.
  4. Click on Go button besides Manage: Com-Add-in.
  5. Check if there are add-ins listed, clear the checkbox to disable them.
  6. Close the Excel and restart it.  


Method 3:

If the spreadsheets are not created on this machine (downloaded or transferred from another machine), try the following steps and check if it helps:

  1.  Right click on the excel file.
  2.  Select Properties.
  3. Remain on General tab.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the General tab and select "Unblock" to unblock the file.
